Personal care

A support worker helps you with personal tasks you find hard or can't do on your own. We always work with your privacy and dignity first, and we follow your routine, not ours.

This may suit you if…

  • You need hands-on help with personal tasks
  • You want to stay living in your own home
  • Your family or carer needs a break from providing personal care

What is personal care?

Personal care is support with the private, everyday tasks that help you look after yourself, such as showering, dressing, going to the toilet and eating. It's one of the most common NDIS supports, and one of the most personal, so how it's done matters as much as what's done.

Our support workers follow your routine and your preferences. You decide the order things happen, what you'd like to do yourself and where you'd like a hand. We'll always ask before we help, explain what we're doing, and protect your privacy and dignity.

Support can be short visits at set times, such as morning and evening, or longer shifts, depending on your needs and your NDIS plan.

What it could look like
