What is home modifications?

Home modifications are changes to your home that make it safer and easier to use. They help you stay living at home and do more for yourself.

Modifications range from small changes, like grab rails and handrails, to bigger works, like ramps, wider doorways or a bathroom renovation.

Most modifications start with an assessment by an occupational therapist, who recommends what you need. Bigger or more complex changes need NDIA approval.

Good to know: Most home modifications need an occupational therapist's assessment first, and bigger changes need NDIA approval.
